An update for the community (such as it is!) on what is currently going on at Maethius' workshop.
Finally completing my most recent work after more than a year of mental blockage:
ON THE BENCH
"Wildcard" (as yet unnamed dragon)
Commissioned Custom #12
The goal is to create a sleek yet robust fantasy dragon based on HMM kits.
FEATURES
Articulation: head, jaws, neck, legs/Feet, arms/hands, tail, mid-torso. and some serious wings.
Weaponry: Light on standard weapons, the focus of this custom is as a platform of a unique "super weapon" that will dominate the build. This custom is heavily articulated and wired for lights. It is also the first custom I've made that requires a stand; the proportions and articulation are such that, while it can stand on it's own, my client wants to be able to pose it in action poses... and the hips and knees can't bear the weight.
CATEGORY: Custom/Kit-Bash
SCALE: Huge (Roughly 25% larger than a stock King Gojulas at 40" long)
FACTION: Helic
STAGE: BUILD (95% - yet to complete wiring and paint)
WRITEUP: 10% (many AOW story details worked out with the client)
WEBPAGE: 0%
PRIOR PROJECT - XZ-414 Hecatomb
Commissioned Custom
CATEGORY: Kitbash/Scratch/Custom
SCALE: Large (25% larger than a stock GIl Vader in all dimensions)
FACTION: Mhurahn (Independent Sovereign State)
STAGE: COMPLETED!
BUILD: 100%
FINISH: 100%
PHOTOGRAPHY: 100%
WRITEUP: 100%
WEBPAGE: 100%
------
BACK-BURNER CONCEPT - Bridgebluster
I've always been fascinated with bridgelayers; those cool military vehicles that can slap down a bridge to cross rivers and rough terrain, then drive over, pick up the bridge, and continue on their way. I finally decided to build a Zoid bridgelayer; the most logical base is a Gunbluster, hence "Bridgebluster."
CATEGORY: Custom/Scratch
SCALE: Medium-Large (Gunbluster base, but the bridge is BIG)
FACTION: Helic (unless I change my mind)
STAGE: Design phase (all concepts refined, 90% parts gathered)
BUILD: 15% (parts gathering only)
FINISH: 0% (Thou canst not paint what thou hast not built)
PHOTOGRAPHY: 0% (nothing to film)
WRITEUP: 10% (technical data and story in the works)
WEBSITE: 0% (again... "obviously")
